For 3500 years the Jewish people have observed the ritual of circumcision as the fundamental sign of the covenant between God and the Jewish people. Known in Hebrew as Brit Milah, "the Covenant of Circumcision", it is considered much more than a simple medical procedure. Brit Milah is considered the sign of a new-born child's entry into the Jewish tradition. If you are in a community that does not have a Mohel, a person trained to do the act of circumcision and lead the rites that accompany this life cycle event, you can have a local doctor do the medical procedure and Rabbi Sarko will travel to your city and lead the ritual acts with the family.
